Baptisms

Everyone living within the Parish of Bierton and Hulcott is welcome to have their children baptised in St James the Great Church Bierton or All Saints Church Hulcott and there are around 10,000 babies and children baptised in the Church of England every month. We also welcome adults who want to be baptised.

Service of Thanksgiving

Some parents might want to celebrate the gift of a child in a different way without the commitment that baptism involves and can instead request a service of Thanksgiving. During the Thanksgiving service parents and families give thanks for the birth or adoption of a child and everyone prays for family life. A Thanksgiving Service is not a Baptism. There are no promises to make about the Christian faith. The child will be blessed and prayed for, and supporting friends and family will promise to assist the parents in bringing up their baby.

Confirmation

Confirmation courses are run at select times of the year for those looking to prepare themselves for communion. The course both prepares and teaches people about communion in readiness for confirmation. You must have previously been baptised to be confirmed.
