A funeral is used to mark the end of a person's life here on earth. Family and friends come together to express grief, celebrate and give thanks for the life lived and commend the person into God's keeping. These can be a small, quiet ceremony or a large occasion in a packed church.

At St James the Great Church Bierton and All Saints Church Hulcott we work with the bereaved and the funeral directors to arrange an appropriate service following the death of a loved one. The options broadly are to have a service in Church followed by a burial or cremation; to go straight to the Crematorium with a memorial service in Church later or simply to have a service at the Crematorium.

To arrange a funeral service please first contact your chosen funeral director who will then liaise with us to arrange a suitable date and time. The vicar will then contact the bereaved family to arrange an appointment to meet and discuss the funeral service.
